Are you a hands-on culinary leader ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a Chef Manager to lead a busy and dynamic kitchen operation in Jindabyne. This full-time role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality food and service while managing an enthusiastic team and maintaining operational excellence.
About the Role:
As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a professional, efficient, and profitable kitchen operation. You'll lead from the front, delivering exceptional meals, mentoring staff, managing costs, and ensuring food safety and compliance standards are upheld. You will work closely with front-of-house teams and senior management to exceed client expectations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily kitchen and front-of-house operations
  • Ensure training, induction, and compliance with company policies
  • Maintain high food presentation and service standards
  • Design and implement innovative menus for canteens, boarding, and events
  • Manage food stock control, ordering, invoicing, and cost reporting
  • Uphold strict food safety, WHS, and hygiene standards
  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, and clients
  • Participate in management meetings and site communications
  • Monitor performance KPIs including cost of goods, labour efficiency, and customer satisfaction
What They are Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef or similar leadership role
  • Strong people management skills with a hands-on leadership style
  • High-level food safety and WHS knowledge
  • Ability to manage budgets, ordering, and stock control
  • A passion for high-quality service and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
